Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy (RSD), or Chronic Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS), occurs when there has been an injury or site trauma to a region of the body. This part of the body continues to experience pain, hypersensitivity and even decreased blood flow after the injury has healed. Sometimes, the pain experienced from RSD/CRPS is even greater than that of the injury itself. RSD/CRPS is notably hard to treat, although recent advances in stem cell therapy have proven to be very beneficial for people suffering from this condition.
